Welcome to this Molly McIntire pathfinder, created to help YOU find information and fun about Molly McIntire and the time period in which she lived.
Molly's story is set in Jefferson, Illinois in the 1940s during World War II. You can find out all about Molly and her adventures and enjoy games and much more by going to the All Things Molly page of this site. |
Molly's story, though fiction or pretend, is set in a real time period. Your grandparents may have lived through the 1940s and World War II. To explore different parts of what life was like as highlighted by the Molly books or to learn more about the war, explore the other pages of this pathfinder. You can read Real Stories & Letters, and you can visit websites about World War II from The War page. To see what life was like during World War II for children like Molly's friend from England, Emily Bennett, visit Things English. Although life was sometimes hard during the war, people still had fun and you can have lots of 1940s fun from the Fun! page.
If you're still curious or don't find what you're looking for in these pages, visit the Going Beyond page for tips and tricks for finding out more information. There is a lot out there about this time period. This pathfinder also does not even really touch on things like the Holocaust where millions of Jews were killed or the internment (confinement) of Japanese Americans - both important parts of World War II history. You can find some places to start to look for that and other information at the Going Beyond page.
Before you get started, here are some important definitions:
